Hit and run driver arrested for injuring two teenage boys in Girne

A drunk hit and run driver has been arrested detained for allegedly hitting two teenagers with a car and then fled the scene of the incident.

The accused, 45-year-old Şaban Aygın reportedly hit two teenage boys who were crossing the pedestrian crossing on road at about 10:20pm on Saturday night in Girne.

The two boys were injured in the accident and were taken to a hospital in Girne for treatment.

The driver was later arrested at about 10:55pm in Çatalköy.

Police report say the driver was high on 183 promile of alcohol.

The driver was taken to court and detained for two days pending investigation and trial.
