Greek Cypriot side’s refusal to share political power with the Turkish Cypriot is reason for no-solution - Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman
Non-solution of the Cyprus Problem was due to the Greek Cypriot side’s
refusal to share political power with the Turkish Cypriot side, said Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hami Aksoy.
According to him, the Greek Cypriot side expressed this view at every opportunity they found.
Aksoy made the remarks when speaking at a press briefing in Ankara, on Saturday
He noted that the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had received the UN Secretary General’s Special Temporary Envoy Jane Holl Lute twice.

The Foreign Minister told Ms Lute that the Cyprus Problem can only be solved with a settlement that takes the realities on the island as a basis and which includes achievable goals. We do not intend to start negotiations for the sake of holding talks. We do not want to waste another 50 years talking, he said.
