Aspirator causes fire in apart in TRNC

Several properties were destroyed after fire broke out in a house located in Veci Turgay Street in Degirmenlik district.

According to report, the fire started from the kitchen aspirator while cooking was going on at about 2:00pm on Thursday.

The municipal fire crews quickly intervened and helped put out the fire.

The owner of the apartment said he was frying potatoes and standing in front of the burner when suddenly the aspirator flared.

I was so scared, I called the fire department and the municipality, he said.

The municipality extinguished the fire until the fire brigade arrived the scene.
