Passengers terrified after plane engine falls apart during flight
Passengers were left terrified after a plane engine fell apart during flight which was bound to Tampa, Florida returned safely to Las Vegas.
Fortunately no one was harmed and the plane was quickly turned around and landed safely at Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, where it took off from. But that’s not to say the ordeal didn’t cause a fright, so much so that one passenger even texted her daughter to say that she loved her while everyone else was panicking.
Frontier Airlines Flight 260 passenger, Stella Ponce, told WTPS (via the New York Post):
Passenger CJ Gunnerson added:
Amid the chaos, the pilots knew what they were doing and managed to safely land the plane from its departure point. Soon enough the vehicle was back at the airport at around 7.30am.

I was sleeping, and I woke up to a lot of screaming and yelling.
People were yelling for the pilot to stop. Two women were crying, and people were pointing out the window.
Passenger CJ Gunnerson added:
It was like a riot on the plane. [People were] jumping up screaming, slamming on the roof, yelling stop.

Frontier spokeswoman, Allison Redmon, said:
Our pilots followed procedure and immediately returned to the airport.
The engine continued to operate normally and the aircraft, an Airbus 320, landed safely. Safety is our top priority at Frontier Airlines and we would like to acknowledge the professionalism of our pilots and flight attendants.
