Fire in building in Ortaköy

Fire reportedly broke out in an apartment located at Ortaköy on Saturday evening.

According to report by Turkish Cypriot daily, Kibris, the fire which started at about 5:00pm on Saturday affected the fourth floor of a 12 apartment building in on the Faiz Kaymak Street, Ortaköy.

As at the time of this report, the reason for the fire was unknown. But unconfirmed report say it was due to the presence of sawdust and newspaper in the stair of the building.

The apartment window and a door glass were broken due to the heat from the fire.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters.
