Fake News - CIU did not announce any holiday
Due to the impending heavy rain and flood expected on Thursday, the TRNC authorities took precaution by declaring the a holiday for school children attending state run and private school.
Most universities also took measures to cancel classes for the day.
To this extent, a false message carrying the signature of the CIU rector was posted on Facebook and shared on whats app say Thursday has been declared a holiday due to the expected rain.
On investigation, we found out that the Rector, Dr. Halil Nadiri never made such an announcement neither was it posted on any of the university's official site.
The public are encouraged to disregard such information and attend classes.
