Body taken away by flood in north Cyprus recovered by fire crew

The body of a person who was thought to have been taken by the flood while in the vehicle was found on Thursday morning by the TRNC fire crew.

The body of a man who was in a car that was swept away by a torrent in the Girne region in Ciklos locality, at the Lefkosa-Girne high way was removed by the fire crew on Thursday morning.

The body was yet to be identified a s at the time of this report.

The body was located with the help of a drone.

Rescue crews had tried to pull the car from the ravine at 1am but failed due to heavy rain.

Authorities believe three other persons were in the same car and a search was launched in the area to find them.
