Wenger turned down Fulham

Arsene Wenger
Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger reportedly turned down the offer to coach Fulham following the sacking of Slavisa Jokanovic on Wednesday.

Despite a promise of sizeable transfer funds as they look to remain in the Premier League, Wenger is said to had tuned down the chance of managing Fulham and instead, they turned to former Leicester City boss, Claudio Ranieri.

According to report, Wenger turned down the chance in part because he does not want to compete with his former club, Arsenal, after spending more than two decades there.

There seems little point in Wenger risking his reputation with a relegation, especially after leaving Arsenal in emotional circumstances.

Fulham’s chairman seems enthusiastic but unfocused when it comes to the London club, with money rather than strategy leading the way the club is organised.
