Two students sentenced to 4 and 2 years in prison by Girne court for robbery
A Girne court has sentenced two Zimbabwean students convicted of robbing 15 houses and 5 shops to a combined 5 years in prison.
The Kyrenia Criminal Court handed the sentence to M.M and his accomplice, B.M on Wednesday.
The two accused were arrested in March, 2017 and taken to a court in Girne on charges of house opening and stealing.
A comprehensive investigation carried out by the a special unit at the Girne police department lead to their arrest and several electronic equipment worth about 22, 000TL believed to have been stolen between the period from 2017 and March, 2018 seized from them.
M.M was given a 3 years and 6 months prison sentence while his accomplice B.M was given a 20 months prison sentence.
