Student arrested in Girne after he was implicated in a drug case

A student has been arrested and taken to a court in Girne for illegal drug possession.

The accused who was arrested on Tuesday October, 30 in Kyrenia following a search made by narcotics police on his apartment was taken to court on charges of illegal drug possession.

A search was carried out in his apartment after two suspects held for drug crimes confessed and implicated him.

Police said they found cigarettes in his bedroom cupboard, plastic shredders on the table and cigarette smoke mixed with drugs. Some kind of junk type drug was also found in his pocket.

He was ordered by the court to be detained for three days until investigation is completed.
