Police begin the arrest of persons crossing the Haspolat roundabout near CIU

The pedestrian crossing before the Haspolat round about near the Cyprus International University has been removed and any body caught trying to cross the highway will be arrested and fined.

The crossing point was removed last week following complains by the public over the danger it poses to pedestrians using it.

Series of accidents were recorded at the point in recent months due to the frequent use of the busy road by motorists.

The crossing point before now serves students of the Cyprus International University.
