Parents disown teen daughter after discovering she’s gay
A teenager was disowned by her parents and thrown out of the house, after they discovered that she is gay.
Emily
Scheck’s mom and dad turfed out her stuffed animals, awards and
certificates after finding a photo of the 19 year-old with her
girlfriend Justyna. Scheck, from Webster in New York, then received a
text from her mother warning her that if she quit university didn’t
undergo conversion therapy to ‘cure’ her homosexuality, she would be
disowned.
But Emily, who studies at Cansius College in Buffalo, refused to quit school or hide her sexuality, leaving her homeless and broke. She came home to find that all her belongings had been moved into her car.
The license plates had also been taken off from her car, with her dad refusing to pay for its insurance.
Scheck’s
parents added a note confirming that she had been disowned and warned
her never to contact them again. She was left homeless and with just $20
in her pocket, until a friend stepped in and set up a GoFundMe account
which soon raised $100,000.
A post on the page, which has stopped accepting donations, explained;

Her parent’s response has put a lot of emotional weight on Emily.
Luckily, she was already moved into her dorm when Emily’s parents found out.
Her parents responded with hate: aggressive texts blaming her and they even dumped of all her stuff she had left at home such as baby pictures, old clothes, childhood toys, etc. into the trunk of her car.
