Turkish Cypriot man stole 140,436 Turkish Lira from work place in nine months

A Turkish Cypriot man who allegedly stole about 140,436 Turkish Lira in nine months at his work place in Taşkent has been arrested.

Ahmet Akpınar who work at a Taşkent poultry farm in Haspolat was arrested on Tuesday and charged to a court in Lefkosa on the grounds of stealing 140,436 TL in 9 months.

According to police report, the accused received a total of 140, 436.34 TL money, on behalf of the company for sales between January - September 2018. Instead of handing over the money, he diverted it for his personal use.

Police said he gave voluntary testimony and was ordered by the court to remain in detention for three days for investigation purpose.
