Turkish Cypriot ceramics teacher murdered in Iskele

A 53-year-old renowned Turkish Cypriot ceramics teacher in North Cyprus has been murdered.

The body of victim identified as Hasan Işık Özgöçmen, was found in a forest area in the İskele district in the north of the island on Saturday Sept. 30.

According to police report, by Demirören News Agency, Özgöçmen was strangled.

Police also found an abandoned car 150 meters away from the body near the coast.

Özgöçmen, who was teaching at the Atatürk Vocational High School, was also an organizer of the 2nd International Vounous Ceramics Symposium.
