TRNC police issue 8-point warning to the public, says "don't leave your valuables in the car!"

The North Cyprus Police Directorate, Crime Prevention Services department has warned the general public to secure their vehicles against theft and make sure not to leave valuables behind.

In a statement by the Crime Prevention Services on Thursday on it's social media account, the police said; When leaving your vehicle, do not leave your luggage visible on the seat. Be wary of malicious people.

The Crime Prevention Services also issued an 8-point warning that should be considered against theft in vehicles as follows:

1- Attach an alarm system to your vehicle as a precaution against theft.

2- Never leave your car key on the contact, even for a short time. If you have a spare key, do not store it under the torpedo section or passenger seats of your car.

3- When you are parking your vehicle, turn the wheels to the direction of the vehicle and lock the steering wheel.

4- Park your car on illuminated avenues where there is no parking ban.

5- Remember to close your car doors, windows, luggage and uninspiring ventilation.

6- After the vehicle is closed, check that the doors are locked and the windows are closed.

7- The identification card of your vehicle is the chassis number. Keep this number in a safe place.

8- When leaving your car, you will not take your valuables such as cudan, bag, cell phone, put it in the trunk. If you put your bag in the trunk, do not use your car in the same location as the people who might be malicious.
