Tanzanian student sent to prison for double theft
A Tanzanian student who was arrested on suspicion of stealing money and a wallet from a car parked in Lefkosa has been sent to prison.
Sia Fares Elisa Maro, was accused of stealing £50 cash money and wallet from a parked car in Lefkosa and other crimes reports, Kibris.
He was taken to a Lefkosa court on charges of theft on Thursday.
Police say the accused was arrested at about 10.30 am on Wednesday October, 10 in Ortaköy.
He is said to have stolen £50 from a car parked in front of CEBAN Market, operating on the Burhan Nalbantoglu Street.
Police also accused the suspect of stealing a Samsung mobile phone from inside a car parked in from of Sismar Market operating in Gönyeliat about 10.00 am on the same day.
The accused, a Tanzanian nationality is a student in the TRNC.
He was ordered by the judge to remain in detention for a period of time not exceeding one month.
