Russian couple killed after car goes off a cliff in south Cyprus

Two Russian tourists, a man, 58 and his wife, 48, were killed on Saturday after their rental car went off a cliff and plunged 30 metres onto the rocky coast in the Akamas area in Paphos, police said.

The bodies were collected by a marine police boat and were taken to Latchi harbour. From there, they were transferred to Paphos general hospital where their deaths were confirmed.

They had arrived in Cyprus on October 10 and were due to leave on October 24 after holidaying at a Paphos hotel.
The couple’s car had been spotted by a passer-by at around 2.14pm who notified police about a car that went off a cliff in the Kakoskali area, near the Baths of Aphrodite.
