Law student dress in Spiderman custome to accept degree

A law student has shocked many at the graduation ceremony at his school after he showed up a Spiderman to accept his Degree at an event that was billed to be a solemn university graduation ceremony.

Hiram Yahir Salas Romero, 22, broke with protocol at The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez in northern Mexico when he decided to attend the proceedings dressed as the American superhero.

The strict dress code demanded that graduates wear dark suits, white shirts and shoes when accepting their degrees.

However, Mr Romero managed to change into a Spider-Man costume in the bathroom which he then concealed beneath a graduation gown.

He claimed that his unusual dress was an attempt to change the image of law students who he said were often considered to be ‘too square.’

As Mr Romero walked up to receive his graduation certificate, the Master of Ceremonies reminded the audience of the ‘solemnity’ of the occasion for which he received ‘several boos.’

Mr Romero said:

None of the authorities said anything. They just looked at me unhappily. I don’t remember if the Rector said anything, but I think I got a smile out of him.

On receiving his degree Mr Romero also displayed a placard that read:

For the love of my life, my mother.

He explained that not only had his mother supported him throughout his studies but that she had also given him the money for the Spider-Man suit.

The law graduate said that he saw Spider-Man as a role model who was ‘human with problems but also with the desire to help people with his special powers and intellect.’
