Greek Cypriots mindset on Turkish Cypriot changed after low price shopping gave them the opportunity to cross over to the north
Thousands of Greek Cypriots are reportedly beginning to prefer the north for their purchases due to the exchange rate and the price difference arising from the depreciation of the Turkish Lira.
According to the Politis newspaper; "There are discount shopping prices in the north which enable thousands of Greek Cypriots yo take advantage of the low cost of goods to meet their basic needs.
According to the news paper, Greek Cypriots; started to move north for supermarket, pharmacy, dentist and hairdresser needs; as they get most of the products for half the price such as dentists and hairdressers.
Greek Cypriots, who answered the questions of the reporter, stated that they had never thought of going north; however, they stated that from their first transition, the doors of a new world were opened for themselves and their fanatical thoughts changed, and that Turkish Cypriot shop owners and other employees were very polite and helpful.
According to the news, some Greek Cypriots also said that after they began to cross this side, their thoughts on the Cyprus problem changed by 80 percent and that they felt better now, even when they did not want to hear the name of the Turks.
One of the Greek Cypriots who spoke to the reporter claimed that the Turkish Cypriots were not yet ready to coexist with Greek Cypriots, although they were helpful, hospitable and good people.
