Greek Cypriot man chains wife so she would not drink

A 36-year-old Greek Cypriot man is being searched for by police in Paphos for allegedly chaining his wife to a railing on the loft so that she could not drink! Who does that!

According to report by Greek Cypriot press on Tuesday, Paphos police were seeking the man, who is a bar owner for allegedly chaining his 38-year-old wife to a railing on the loft so that she would not drink.

The woman, a Ukrainian was found by police officers chained to the railing on the bar’s loft on Monday after neighbors notify police. Meanwhile the establishment was closed at the time.

She told officers that her husband had chained her so that she would not consume alcohol.

Police issued an arrest warrant for the 38-year-old while the woman was taken to hospital where she was treated and subsequently discharged.
