Five people arrested by soldiers while trying to cross over to the South

Five people including 3 Pakistani, 2 Congolese and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in a military zone and taken to court for trying to cross over to south Cyprus illegally.

Muhammad Naveed Ullah Khan, 26, Shan Amin, 24, Nafees Ahmad, 20, Ngongo Wedi, 31 and 17-year-old M.D were arrested on Sunday October, 14 in Haspolat at about 11:00pm.

They were identified by soldiers of the 28th Division 61th Infantry Regiment 2 while trying to transit from north Cyprus to Southern Cyprus..

Their identities were known following police interrogation.

The suspects were taken to a Lefkosa Court on charges of violating a military prohibited area.
