Farmer in south Cyprus detained for sexually harassing 15 year old girl
A
farmer in south Cyprus has been arrested by Greek Cypriot police for reportedly harassing a 15-year-old girl.
According to report by Philenews on Friday, the suspect was remanded in custody on Thursday by Nicosia District Court for eight days following a closed door hearing because the case involves a minor.
The case is being investigated by police’s domestic violence and abuse of minors unit.
Philenews said that the mother — who is a non-Cypriot from a European country — works for the farmer.
Mother and daughter were living at premises on the farm but moved out to other premises belonging to the suspect about a year ago.
Last week, mother and daughter filed the complaint with police after the girl reportedly told her mother.
Police have taken a videotaped statement from the teenager.
