Cyprus Talks: Cyprus solution has been frozen

The Cyprus Problem cannot endure another failure, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, adding that the solution process has been frozen.

Speaking at the TRT World Forum, last week, Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey was doing all it could for a settlement on the island.

The solution in Cyprus has been frozen. We did all we could in Geneva last year but we failed to reach a positive outcome. We are now talking with everyone, with all the players and actors involved. This includes the Greek Cypriots in an unofficial capacity to understand and see what we are going to negotiate from now on and what the negotiating framework will be. However, we do not have the luxury of another failure which is why Turkey is doing all it can.
