Turkey will not allow the establishment of an energy arrangement in which Turkey and the TRNC will not have a fair and equal share of the island’s natural resources, said Turkey’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez.

Speaking at a meeting on Thursday, the Turkish Minister said that Turkey will not allow any project that does not have Ankara’s approval to go forward.

Stating that Turkey has taken important steps recently to increase its capacity for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons, Dönmez said that the exploration vessel, the Fatih, will commence its first drilling activities in the Eastern Mediterranean in a few months time.
