Teen driver crashes car at traffic light in Lefkosa

An 18-year-old boy was seriously injured in an accident involving three vehicles at a traffic light near Honda, along the Haspolat - Lefkosa road on Wednesday morning.

The 18- year-old driver identified as Erol Mehmet Şah was driving a jeep towards the direction of Fazıl Küçük Boulevard of the road at about 10:30 am on Wednesday when the incident happened.

According to report, he reportedly did not comply with the traffic light sign and in the process tried to make a U-turn which made him to hit the roadside steel barriers, somersaulted and hit two other cars behind it.

The accident caused a heavy traffic on the road and later return to normal after the car was towed away.
