Student arrested in Lefkosa for sexually assaulting a girl inside the CIU school bus

A student who allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old girl sexually in a university school bus has been arrested by the police.

The incident reportedly happened in the Cyprus International University school bus at about 6:45pm on Friday, September, 21.

The student identified only as Ahmet Bilgili, was confronted by other students in the bus following a complaint by the victim and handed over to the police
 
He was brought before a Lefkosa court on Saturday on charges of sexual assault. 

According to police report, the accused reportedly wrapped his hand around the girl's neck and then began to touch her hips with his hand who before she then screamed for help. 

Police said the bus camera will be examined for more evidence. 

The accused was then ordered to remain in police detention for three days pending investigation.
