Nigeria defeats Greece at Women’s Basketball World Cup
The Nigeria Women’s Basketball team are set to face USA in the quarter-final of the ongoing FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Spain after they defeated Greece.
The Nigeria Women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have qualified for the quarter-final stage of the ongoing FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Spain.
They sealed their place with a narrow 57-56 win over Greece on Wednesday, at the Santa Cruz court in Tenerife.
It was their third consecutive victory, following back-to-back wins against Turkey and Argentina.
The first quarter ended 15 points apiece.
The D’Tigress, however, opened a five-point lead in the second quarter, winning 16-11.
They further increased their lead with a 17-11 win in the third quarter.
However, it did not look too good for the D’Tigress in the final quarter, as they eventually lost 9-19.
