The National Asociation of Nigeria Students, NANS, Turkish Zone on Monday September, 24, 2018 held a symposium tagged: "Building yourself in diaspora as an agent of change for Nigeria" at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta.
The symposium is among series of events organized to celebrate the 58th Nigerian Independence day on October, 1.
Speaking at the event were comr. Victor Markus, comr. P. Coston Pwavodi, comr. Ridhwan O. Olaoke.
The team for the Independence day anniversary is Reawakening the sleeping giant (Rebranding Nigeria).
The aim of the symposium include;
1. To encourage the Nigerian youths in the diaspora about building values in their lives that will be a solution to Nigeria. Values such as knowing our worth as international students abroad. Building integrity in our life which makes it hard for people to break us. Knowing our voice and our strength and how to protect it. Using the resources we have and observing the systems we are in to create solutions out of them for the present Nigeria.
2. To encourage the Nigerian youths to determine beyond all odds to be the solution that Nigeria needs even as we all go back home after our stay abroad. Maximizing every platform around you which you can operate from to change things and benefit the country
3. Build yourself with the mind to bring solutions and fix systems in the country that will outlive you in benefiting the masses of the country. Solutions in all the sectors of the country. Understanding how systems work abroad in all sectors and how you can pull out solutions from them for Nigeria.
4. To encourage the Nigerian youth to understand and appreciate the uniqueness of Nigeria in its diversity of citizens and how to still pull through and affect everyone. Breaking barriers and building lives. Understanding the power of unity. Finding ways to help your fellow Nigerian here in the diaspora.
5. Understanding the Power of LOVE for Nigeria and PASSION for it to change and be better. A never giving up attitude on the nation until it changes. Determining to leave your legacy to your generation by asking yourself what can I do for the present day Nigeria that will make it great again not by status but by effect on its masses. Don’t let the Nigeria in you die.
6. Being a true ambassador begins with your life. Your way of life presently is it a solution to Nigeria or another problem. Challenge your story and change your life to change Nigeria. The future of Nigeria starts with you today.
