Heavy rainfall and hail batter Lefkosa/Nicosia

It has been raining heavily in some parts of Cyprus in the last three days and on Tuesday a heavy rain and hail battered several parts of Lefkosa and Nicosia.

A rainstorm hit the area of Peristerona in Nicosia, south Cyprus on Tuesday afternoon, which prompted the local meteorological department to issue the first weather warning of the year.

In the video below which was shared on Twitter, one can clearly see heavy rainfall and hail falling vigorously.

The heavy rain is expected to continue on Wednesday.
