EMU appears on the Times Higher Education List
The Eastern Mediterranean
University (EMU) has for the third time in a row been listed among the 1,258World University Rankings by the U.K. based higher education ranking magazine Times Higher Education
(THE) for the 2018 – 2019 Academic and the only only university from TRNC to appear on the list.
Among the 1,258 universities from 79 different countries listed in THE 2018 -2019 World University Rankings, the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is the only university from the TRNC to appear on the list and for third time in a row.

The ranking considers factors
such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international
outlook, citations from academic publications, international faculty,
number of international students, social activities and civic
involvement.
This year only 18 out of the 200 universities in North Cyprus and Turkey were listed.
A total of 23 universities from Turkey and 2 universities from South Cyprus appear on the list.
EMU was listed within the top 13 universities from Turkey among other 1,000 Turkish universities and it co-ranks 6th along with İstanbul Technical University and Middle East Technical University.
Sabancı University, Koç University, Bilkent University, Boğaziçi University, Hacettepe University, İstanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University, Anadolu University, Atılım University, Erciyes University, Gebze Technical University, İstanbul University, Akdeniz University, Ankara University, Bahçeşehir University, Çukurova University, Dokuz Eylül University, Gazi University, İzmir High Technology Institute, Marmara University, 19 Mayıs University, TOBB Economy and Technology University, Yeditepe University are universities from Turkey managing to appear in the said rankings.
On the other hand, Cyprus Technology University and University of Cyprus from South Cyprus appear within the top 500 universities in the list.
