20 people arrested and detained in Girne in one night
According to police report, 20 people without a valid identify were arrested by the police team for various crimes on Thursday night. Those who did not submit an identification were taken into custody.
The operation lasted from 10.30pm in Girne until 01.30am on Friday.
20 persons who were questioned and had no identity or document to identify themselves were arrested.
Among them are those sleeping in the streets because they do not have a place to stay, and those who carry illegal equipment on the street.
In the operation carried out at Kordonboyu Caddesi, Mendirek, behind Girne Castle, Baldoken Park, Girne Municipality Building and in the bazaar area, police found a knife and a stick.
A search was also carried out on vehicles parked in the back area of the castle.
A person who was sleeping on the bench with excessive alcohol, and was also arrested.
