Turkish Cypriot sent to prison for stealing jewelries worth thousands of pounds in a Gonyeli home
A Turkish Cypriot man who broke into a home in Gonyeli to steal jewelries has been sent to prison.
Christakis Vasili, who had been accused of stealing jewelries worth thousands of pounds after entering the residence of Berna Hacıali in Gönyeli, was sent to prison on Tuesday.
Vasili, who was arrested on charges of "robbery", was taken to the Lefkosa Court on Monday.
According to police report, Christakis Vasili, had entered the apartment located at Berna Hacıali in Gönyeli through the kitchen door between the hours of 9:15 am and 5:35 pm on August, 9.
He is said to have stolen a pandora bracelet with 1 wish-tree motif gold necklace, 1 ring shaped pendant necklace, 1 pendant heart necklace, 1 pendant gold necklace, 1 infinitiy eternity gold necklace and 1 pendant with white gold stones.
Police said he went to the apartment with a rental Mercedes car.
The court Judge ordered the suspect to remain in custody at the Lefkosa Central Prison for a month.
