TRNC government to ask Turkey for more money due to the devaluation of the Turkish Lira
The government of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus will ask for more money from Turkey, due to the economic crisis as a result of the
devaluation of the Turkish Lira.
According to a report by journalist, Vatan Mehmet, the coalition government is waiting for a reply to its request for a meeting with Ankara, who writes that in spite of Prime Minister Erhurman’s statements that they will not ask for money during their visit to Ankara, the main aim of the meeting with Turkey is to discuss economic issues, the budget deficit and the demand for a supplementary budget.
Turkey has not yet replied to this demand, the report says.
It is expected that the meeting will be arranged soon and that other current issues will also be discussed.
