Man arrested in Lefkosa for shouting and holding a toy gun

A drunk man was arrested by the police early Tuesday morning in Lefkosa after brandishing a toy gun and shouting on top of his voice

The accused, identified as Esat Demir was arrested at about 1:45am on Tuesday near his office at the Lokmacı Kara border gate with south Cyprus in Lefkosa. 

Police said the suspect who had crossed the alcohol limit was high on 400 promil alcohol and was screaming.

Police said he was arrested following a complaint by residents in the area who said he brought out a toy gun from his pocket.

Police said the accused had no legal status in the country.
