Any landlord who refuses to accept rents at a fixed exchange rates will be dealt with legally said the TRNC Prime Minister, Tufan Erhürman.
Prime Minister, Tufan Erhürman said that the economic packages and measures announced by the parliament will be accepted as a law by the Council of Ministers in the future.
He noted that one of the measures to be announced on Friday is rent/lease agreements made with foreign currency and according to him, tenants can go to the Ministry of Finance and apply for a new contract at a determined fixed exchange rate.
Erhürman also stated that if house owners accepts this new contract, rents will be reduced by 1 per cent.
He also noted that the tenants would be legally protected by the law if the homeowners objected to it.
