GAU chairman board of trustees announces fixed rates in TL for accommodation

The Rector, chairman, board of trustees and founder of the Girne American University (GAU), Serhat Akpinar, has said students registered with the university can pay their accommodation fees at a fixed rate in Turkish Lira following the crisis created by foreign currencies in the country.

According to a statement on social media, Akpınar emphasized that the situation created by the devaluation of the Turkish Lira will have bad consequences if nothing is done urgently saying that the university will not allow students pay for accommodation with foreign currency which also applies to similar places being used by the university.

He said such a decision was taken to prevent the effects of the crisis created by foreign currency.

As from today, (August, 13) we will continue to pay from the flat rate we have fixed with the TL for the rentals and similar places.

He said the decision has been communicate to the students affairs.
