Ercan Airport on total lock down as flights cancelled
There was chaos at Ercan airport on Tuesday night after flights were cancelled due to a shutdown by airport workers over working hours.
All flights arriving and departing the Ercan airport in Lefkosa, North Cyprus were cancelled until 8:00am on Wednesday morning as airport staff and Air Traffic Controllers' Union protest working time.
Passengers who fell victims to cancelled flights were left miserable because there were no place to go.
Many people decided to cancel their flights, while passengers with advanced flight tickets are trying to change flight times.
The transit routes of passengers going abroad via Istanbul were also canceled due to the strike in Ercan and the flights abroad.
Many of the holidaymakers stated that they will not come to the TRNC again due to the troubles and the financial losses that they have caused.Immediately after the strike was launched at Ercan airport, the TRNC Council of Ministers responded by banning the strike action.
