Car catches fire on Nicosia-Limassol highway

People were left stunned at about 7.30 am on Monday when a car caught fire as it was moving on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, but thanks  to the driver’s calm handling of the incident, there were no injuries.

He parked the car on the hard shoulder and exited the vehicle. 

Fire fighters intervened and extinguished the fire which it said was due to a technical fault.
