Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid 4-2 to win the UEFA Super Cup
Two goals from Diego Costa and two extra-time goals from homegrown midfielders Saul Niguez and Koke help sealed a 4-2 UEFA Super Cup victory for Atletico Madrid.
Despite that strong start from Diego Simeone's Atletico - with the coach forced to watch from the stands as he still serves a Uefa touchline ban - Real rallied without their former talisman Cristiano Ronaldo as Gareth Bale whipped over a superb cross for Karim Benzema to head home 27 minutes into the contest.
In a game of few chances, Real went ahead after some uncharacteristically poor defending from Atleti veteran Juanfran after the break.
Juanfran - who missed a penalty during Atleti's Champions League final defeat to Real in 2016 - lost sight of Benzema at a corner and clumsily handled the ball, with referee Szymon Marciniak pointing to the spot.
With penalty duties up for grabs with Ronaldo long gone, Ramos stepped up and coolly slotted past Jan Oblak before celebrating in style - first with a Ronaldo-esque jump before a Conor McGregor-like strut.
