80 year old British man arrested for begging in south Cyprus

An 80-year-old British man was on Thursday arrested for begging in the streets of south Cyprus.

According to report, police in Paphos arrested the 80 year Briton for begging in the Dimotika Bania area in Kato Paphos.

A report by the Cyprus News Agency said that police had received complaints about a beggar in the area. A police patrol found a man with wounds on his feet, sitting on the ground, hand outstretched asking for help.

The news agency said the man,  a Briton, was arrested. It added that the man had been spotted begging in the area at other times.
