15 Arab immigrants held in south Cyprus after crossing over from North Cyprus

About 15 Syrian immigrants, including 14 men and a child were arrested on Monday after they were spotted on foot in Nicosia, south Cyprus after crossing in from North Cyprus.

Police said 14 foreign men and a child were spotted on foot in Akaki in Nicosia district around 6.00 am on Monday and  taken to Peristerona Police Station where they are being interviewed by Immigration offices to determine how they came to Cyprus.

They are of Arab origin and appear to have crossed over from the Turkish areas on foot.
