Two students arrested for drug in Famagusta

Two Nigerians have been arrested by narcotics police in Famagusta after drug was allegedly found in their vehicle during a police check.

According to police report, 1 gram of banned substance believed to be a kind of drug residues was found in the vehicle belonging to one of the occupant following a search carried out on the vehicle by a team of Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Prevention police at Glapsides road, Famagusta on Wednesday.

They were arrested and taken to a Famagusta court on charges of drug possession.

Police said they have sent the drug to relevant laboratories for test.

They were ordered by the court to remain in detention for three days to allow for investigation.
