TRNC MP calls on government to resign over hikes in fuel and electricity prices
The National Unity Party (UBP) Chairman, Hussein Ozgurgun has criticized the recent increase in fuel and electricity prices in north Cyprus and called on the government to resign.
According to a press release by the UBP, Özgürgün stated that the government should be taking measures instead of more increase.
He noted that the rate of 31 per cent increase not reflected in the salary of citizens was not taken into account which makes the situation even worse.
Hüseyin Özgürgün called on authorities to take the hikes back as soon as possible, and urged the government to resign due to the fact that the government could not produce a remedy against the increase in the foreign currency and the hikes made.

The government, makes the country unlivable by raising electricity tariffs which is the basic input of the economy, to 56 percent in total, in the last five months, Özgürgün said.
With the new price increase of 33 percent in electricity prices, the government is still defending its inability to apologize.
