Thief falls from window after he was caught by the landlord of the house in Alsancak

It happened not to be his lucky day as he was caught by the landlord of the house and while trying to escape through the window, he fell on a concrete slab.

A 29-year-old man is currently cooling his heels in police net after a robbery attempt went wrong in Alsancak, north Cyprus.

The suspect identified as Ilyas Alkaya, 29 had entered a residence belonging to Mr. Nurcan Yeni in Alsancak at about 4:00am on Wednesday. 

He reportedly entered the apartment through the bathroom window and headed to the bedroom.

He was noticed by the landlord who screamed at him and while trying to escape through the house window, he fell down on a concrete slab about 5 meters high.

The suspect was  taken to the Lefkosa  state Burhan Nalbantoğlu hospital and was arrested after treatment.

Police said, a live 7.62 mm diameter bullet, a live hunting foil, a 7.62 mm hollow bullet case, and a hunting cartridge were seized at his residence.
