Son stabbs father 7-times in Lefkosa

A young man has been arrested for stabbing and wounding his 57-year-old father in Lefkosa.

Kemal Koçin, 57 was stabbed with a kitchen knife 7 times by his son Raif Koçin while he was sleeping. 

The incident happened in their home in Kızılbaş region in Lefkosa on Thursday night following an argument.

Kemal Koçin was injured in seven different places including his left arm, chest and abdomen. he was taken to the Dr.Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosa after the incident.

Police said his injuries were not life threatening and will remain under observation.

The son was arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa and jailed for three days.
