Usmanov prepared to sell Arsenal stake
Alisher Usmanov, the minority owner of Arsenal, is giving up on
buying the rest of the company from Stan Kroenke. The two figures own
the club between them, and Kroenke has been unwilling to cede any of his
shares to the Uzbek businessman. That has left Usmanov accepting that
he is not going to gain control of the club and is now prepared to sell
his shares.
Klopp to retain Sturridge
Daniel Sturridge had been expected to leave Liverpool after he spent some of last season on loan to West Bromwich Albion,
but it seems Jurgen Klopp might keep him on for the coming games.
Sturridge, 28, has one year left on his current deal but has impressed
in Liverpool’s friendlies while playing in a deeper role for the club.
