Paper Round: Manchester United battle Barcelona for Chelsea winger Willian
Manchester United and Barcelona want
Willian, Jack Wilshere will join West Ham, Liverpool and Spurs battle
for Jack Grealish, and United scout Erling Haaland.
Manchester United face battle for Willian
Manchester United may miss out on longstanding target, Willian. The Chelsea
player is one of Jose Mourinho’s favourite players and he is a target
for them in this transfer window. However, they face competition for the
player from Barcelona. Barcelona want to bring in Willian from Stamford
Bridge to give more freedom to Lionel Messi, and to give them more tactical options. United may not win in a bidding war.
Wilshere set for West Ham move
Jack Wilshere was set for a move from Arsenal
to Turkish club Fenerbahce, according to recent rumours. His contract
at Arsenal is up meaning that he can be signed on a free transfer by any
club in the world, but he now seems set to stay in London. He is due to
sign a three year deal with West Ham for £100,000 a week after
revealing that his family are all fans of the East End club.
Liverpool face off with Spurs for Grealish
Tottenham Hotspur are favourites for the signing of Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish. The 22 year old’s asking price had been £40m, but the financial crisis at Villa
Park has brought that down to around half that. Spurs have bid £15m for
the player, and Villa were hoping that Liverpool’s interested would
spark a bidding war, but Jurgen Klopp has yet to respond with a bid of any kind.
United scouting Haaland
Manchester United are scouting 17-year-old Molde striker, Erling
Haaland. He has impressed with Molde since breaking into the first
team. One thing to note is that Haaland’s father is former Manchester City
midfielder, Alfie Inge Haaland, who’s career barely recovered after Roy
Keane’s brutal red-card challenge on him when Keane was at Manchester
United.
