Cristiano Ronaldo’s sensational switch reportedly moved a step closer on Monday night. That and more in Tuesday’s Paper Round.
Ronaldo to Juve in 48hrs?
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly a step closer to becoming a Juventus player. The Express are among the papers picking up on Sky Sports’ report that Real Madrid
are set to make a final decision on how they proceed with Juventus’
offer within the next 48 hours. The Serie A champions are looking to
push through a club-record £88m move, with the Express stating Real have a gentlemen’s agreement to allow the 33-year-old to leave so long as it is not to a direct rival.
Mahrez on brink of Man City move
Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is on the brink of moving to Premier League champions Manchester City, according to the Telegraph.
The Algerian has not attended Leicester’s training camp in France, with
his £60m move to Man City expected to be completed this week. The
27-year-old has been a longstanding target for Pep Guardiola, who failed to land Mahrez on deadline day back in January.
Everton join race for £70m Zaha
Everton are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, according to the Daily Mail.
Zaha reportedly turned down a £125,000-a-week contract from Palace over
the weekend, though Everton may be priced out of the £70m price-tag
slapped on the 25-year-old. Borrusia Dortmund and Tottenham are also said to be keen on the Ivorian.
RB Leipzig still want Lookman
RB Leipzig are still in talks with Everton regarding a permanent move for youngster Ademola Lookman. The Daily Mail
reports that Everton turned down a £12m bid for the England youth
international, but first-team manager Ralf Rangnick remains confident,
saying: “We're still in talks over Ademola Lookman - we want him back
and he wants to come.”
