Not again! Woman stabs boyfriend in the stomach in Alsancak

Just when the country is trying to recover from the shock of the murder of a woman who was shot and killed by her husband with a hunting riffle, another deadly one was almost happening again.

 

A woman has been arrested for stabbing her 23-year-old boyfriend, Savaş Şanverdi, in the stomach.

 

The incident happened at about 4:00am on Saturday at Kazım Özalp Street, in Alsancak. 

 

According to police report, the accused identified as Nadia Bel Hajjam stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach with a bread knife following an argument. 

 

The victim was quickly rushed to the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosa where he is said to be responding to treatment.

 

The accused was arrested and taken to court on charges of attempted murder and possession of dangerous weapon.  

 

Nadia Bel Hajjam speaking before a judge, said;

I made a mistake, please help me. I love him so much. I made a terrible mistake.

 

She was detained for three days on court orders. 

The police are still investigating the matter.
