North Cyprus authorities warns of possible fire outbreak, urge public to take caution

The North Cyprus Forest Department has issued a warning to all citizens and the general public of the possibility of fire outbreaks given the high temperatures and increasing wind speeds.

According to the department, it is not permitted to have bonfires or anything that is related with fire between May 1 and October 31 for any reason.

There have been fires in Alayköy, Bağlıköy, Tashkent, Çatalköy and Gönyeli dam regions within the space of two days. 

Should there be any outbreak, the fire brigade, civil defence and related municipality facilities had been mobilised under the direction of the Forestry Department.
